The start of a new chapter

4 years of JV coming to an end 

It’s with mixed emotions that we announce the closure of JV Communications. After much consideration, we've made the decision to take a step back and explore new opportunities, as Vic embarks on a new chapter of her life with a baby on the way and Jo continues her career as a full time photographer. We have absolutely loved building our little business over the last few years and have been so lucky to have so many lovely clients throughout. 

Our Journey 

The idea of JV came about when we were both living with our parents in Mersea and going through the covid lockdown. Since then we have both moved to our own houses (even if we are only a few doors away from each other!), got dogs and started building our own lives. JV has been a huge part of this and we really have loved working together, but after lots of discussions it felt like the right time to move on from the little business we have created. 

In the beginning, our mission was (and still is) simple: to help brands connect with their audience in a meaningful way. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with incredible clients, helping them grow their online presence, and telling their stories through engaging content. Looking back, we’ve seen incredible success, from driving measurable engagement to building lasting relationships with our clients.  

We have thoroughly enjoyed embracing the adapting nature of social media and the constant changes it brings, along with having the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with lots of amazing people. 

Although we must admit that it will definitely be nice to have social media back as something we can use for enjoyment and spend a little less time on!

We just wanted to take a moment to express our thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. To our clients - thank you for trusting us with your content and social media, for allowing us to explore different ideas and for making us feel like we were part of your team. 

Thank you to everyone who has followed us along the way, shared our posts and recommended us. Even though social media is a fantastic means of communication, nothing can beat in-person, first hand recommendations. 

We have learnt so much not only about digital marketing, but about running a business - these skills will carry us through our future ventures.

What’s Next?

Whilst JV Communications is coming to an end, we are excited to explore new ventures, embrace new challenges and spend more time together outside of business. 

As we mentioned above, Vic is expecting a baby in May and we would both like plenty of time to dedicate to the newest member of our family. Who knows what direction post-maternity-leave Vic’s career may take! 

Secondly, Jo’s photography demands are growing and there is a lot of scope for her business to expand here. She will still be offering photography & videography services for small businesses so please contact her on jo@jolaurenphotography.co.uk if you need anything!
